Job Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our cloud engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and resilient cloud-based infrastructure using AWS services.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, and VPC.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts to provision and manage AWS resources.
  • Enable configuration management, ensuring consistent and secure deployments across various environments.
  • Automate deployment, scaling, and management of containers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Continuously improve and optimize cloud infrastructure and configuration management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
  • Implement proactive monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system health and security compliance.
  • Provide immediate notification and detailed communication in the event of system-wide outages or performance issues.
  • Leverage knowledge of NIST standards to maintain the APS security posture.
  • Conduct regular security scans as part of the build processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 8 years of Cloud Engineering experience.
  • Must possess and maintain TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
  • Experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of AWS core services such as EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, and others.
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Jenkins)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Python, Java, TypeScript, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and security best practices.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Professional certification(s) in AWS.
