Job Summary:
The Research Manager - Basic Science will oversee the planning, direction, and implementation of research studies using state-of-the-art volume electron microscopic approaches. This position will provide operational oversight of the basic science research and instrumentation, ensuring compliance with federal regulations pertinent to laboratory safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure laboratory safety and compliance with federal regulations.
- Act as liaison with the academic community to foster research collaborations.
- Compile research and educational grant proposals with faculty.
- Manage basic science and anatomy laboratories.
- Coordinate and instruct teaching laboratories for trainees, teaching research design and statistics.
- Conceptualize, design, and implement basic science research studies.
- Oversee lab organization, assist with recruitment and staff supervision, and help plan, coordinate, and supervise research projects and lab experiments/procedures.
- Oversee operation and administration of volume electron microscopy instrumentation.
- Collect and analyze data and prepare results for publication.
- Supervise animal care personnel and volunteer research interns/students.
Requirements:
- Master's degree; Doctoral credential preferred.
- Post-graduate research, teaching, and supervisory experience required.
- Competence in technical/scientific writing and problem-solving.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 34
