Research Assistant Professor Opportunity

The Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor faculty position. We seek accomplished individuals with a PhD or equivalent degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or closely related disciplines.

The successful candidate will have greater than five years of postdoctoral experience or similar experience carrying out independent and collaborative research in biomechanics and medical device design. The position involves developing and applying novel medical devices to treat human disease.

Responsibilities include writing grant applications, contributing to scientific advances in the field, publishing research in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting findings at scientific meetings. The incumbent may also assist in teaching, mentoring postdoctoral scientists and students, and overseeing laboratory staff performing experiments.
