Cayuga Centers is a leading non-profit human services agency dedicated to family support and preservation, trauma-informed care, and serving vulnerable populations with unique needs. Our Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC) program supports foster youth in the custody of the Administration for Children's Services in New York City.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Foster Home Recruitment and Licensing Specialist to join our NYC EFFC program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting foster parent recruitment, certification, and ongoing compliance, as well as ensuring a positive working relationship with foster parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and certify foster parents, ensuring they meet the necessary requirements and standards.
- Conduct home assessments and evaluations to determine the suitability of foster homes for children and youth.
- Develop and maintain relationships with foster parents, providing ongoing support and resources to ensure their success.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to identify and match children with available foster homes based on their needs and preferences.
- Ensure compliance with agency, ACS, and OCFS policies and regulations.
- Document and track all certification of homes, placements, and other relevant data.
- Attend and participate in Family Team Conferences, 20-Day Conferences, and other relevant meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work or equivalent human services degree required; MSW preferred.
- Two years of documented relevant experience required, preferably in child welfare or a related field.
- NYC ACS or private agency child welfare experience required.
- Familiarity with MAPP, OCFS, OPWDD, OMH, and other relevant municipal and state agencies.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Valid NYS Driver's License required.
- Bilingual - English-Spanish is required.
