Role Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable Sommelier to enhance our wine service and contribute to our esteemed wine program. This role is pivotal in ensuring exceptional hospitality and a superior wine experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding wine service consistently, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Assist the Lead Sommelier and Bar Manager in managing the wine program effectively.
  • Focus on wine service operations, including setup and breakdown procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Sommelier to maintain and enhance the wine offerings.
  • Uphold the core values of Hawksmoor in all interactions.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of wines and related products.
  • Engage with guests, providing recommendations and addressing inquiries.
  • Verify the legal drinking age of guests as required.
  • Accurately process orders and transactions using the POS system.
  • Ensure the aesthetic presentation of wine displays and maintain cleanliness.
  • Report any health or safety violations to the Manager on Duty.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, restocking as necessary.
  • Address guest concerns with a positive approach, involving management when needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred TIPS Certification.
  • WSET or Guild Somm certification is highly regarded.
