We are currently in search of a Building Science Practice Team Manager for the Northeast Region (Internal Position PTM 3).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Building Sciences Practice Teams in the New York and New England regions, which are engaged in various assessments and remediation activities, including but not limited to: Asbestos Surveys, Lead-Based Paint Surveys, Microbial and Moisture Assessments, and Indoor Environmental Quality Evaluations.
  • Report directly to the National Practice Team Manager and the Technical Practice Director, managing Practice Team Managers and their respective teams.
  • Ensure effective management and coordination of all regional Building Sciences teams.
  • Supervise work assignments and activities of direct report Team Managers.
  • Oversee staffing assignments within the regional Building Sciences Practice Team.
  • Establish performance objectives, outline career development paths, identify training needs, and conduct performance evaluations for regional managers.
  • Collaborate with the National Practice Team Manager to develop technical training programs and materials.
  • Coordinate with other teams regarding budgets, deadlines, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and participate in national practice team meetings, providing weekly reports and updates.
  • Assist in workload projections and resource allocation.
  • Provide insights on budget management, strategic initiatives, training, and innovation.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics of team members.
  • Identify staffing requirements and support recruitment efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and quality performance within the regional teams.
  • Aid in the development of technical training programs and operational procedures.
  • Support marketing and business development efforts, including client interactions and participation in meetings and events.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field is preferred.
  • Professional certifications in asbestos, lead-based paint, and microbial assessments are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in technical management and leadership within the Building Sciences sector.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop technical staff in relevant assessments and remediation practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and results-oriented, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities in challenging situations.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Technical Requirements:

  • State and federal licenses related to lead, asbestos, and mold.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations concerning asbestos, lead, and mold.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
