Role Responsibilities

The LPN Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and delivering exceptional patient-centered healthcare services. This role involves addressing staffing requirements and provider scheduling while ensuring the confidentiality and dignity of patients are upheld. The LPN Team Leader is tasked with maintaining nursing care standards and engaging in ongoing quality enhancement initiatives. Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to physicians' directives, accurately reporting patient conditions and progress, and overseeing that care is provided by both professional and non-professional staff in accordance with established policies and regulations. Additional duties encompass providing performance feedback to management, coordinating supply needs, assessing educational requirements for staff, managing licensing and credentialing processes, organizing team meetings, facilitating utilization review needs, documenting patient absences and leave, handling medication prior authorizations, addressing various clinical inquiries, ensuring the availability of external medical records, overseeing completion of death records, and adhering to departmental and organizational policies.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse

Education: Graduate of an accredited LPN program

Skills: Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication abilities, and computer literacy

Licensure: Valid Louisiana Practical Nurse license; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
