Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor - Manufacturing Operations is a key role within ESAB, responsible for overseeing the safety and manufacturing activities in assigned departments. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the desired quality and quantity of production at the lowest possible cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that employees are equipped with proper safety gear and adhere to safety protocols.
- Drive workforce engagement to establish and maintain standard work procedures, focusing on safety protocols.
- Utilize Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to identify and mitigate safety risks.
- Directly supervise production workers performing manufacturing operations in assigned departments.
- Lead the implementation and utilization of Colfax Business System (CBS) tools, including SMART Teams, Lifeguard Teams, and Find It Fix It, to monitor and correct issues.
- Participate in and support Kaizen events, including major events, quick kaizens, and Just Do It activities.
- Ensure production meets safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Communicate effectively with production and support functions to address issues.
- Conduct on-the-job training for employees in assigned areas.
Requirements:
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing required.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Practical knowledge of and ability to interpret the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment.
- HRIS systems knowledge, WorkDay preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
