Production Manager

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee 2 production lines at our 900 High Street facility in Hanover, PA. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to supervise production, processing, packaging, and finished product handling. The successful candidate will work primarily Monday-Thursday 5:45pm-6:00am and must be flexible to meet peak production volumes.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise 2 production lines, ensuring efficient production and quality/safety standards.
- Assist in month-end inventory counting and execute production demands in the most efficient manner.
- Ensure production of quality product by upholding processing/packaging standards and maintaining data integrity/accuracy in the ERP data system.
- Schedule personnel efficiently to meet daily production requirements and use EAM to enter work orders and track preventative maintenance tasks.
- Monitor and analyze RedZone for fryer efficiencies, quality checks, and downtime, and execute cycle-end inventory counting with Finance Personnel.
- Involved in hiring, on-boarding, training, and evaluation of department personnel, and monitor and analyze labor hours and crew size needed to efficiently run production lines.
- Forklift, Hi-Reach, and Chemical Certifications are mandatory, and experience with running equipment used to run peel, fry, pack, or move continuous chips is recommended.
- Evaluate individual performance and train personnel to ensure standards are met, and follow safety rules and address unsafe equipment and practices.
- Follow food safety practices and all applicable requirements of the SQF system, and adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Requires analytical, math, and reading skills, and knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Email).
- Leadership and management skills to direct the packaging departments and interface with other departments, and interpersonal and supervisory skills necessary to lead others.
- Knowledge of designated packaging and processing operations to assist when needed, and moderate lifting and occasional skid pulling.
- Knowledge of packaging machinery preferred, and additional post-high school education preferred but not required.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills required.
