Job Title: Network Security Engineer

The Network Security Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the Inmarsat Government Cyber team in achieving operational security objectives. This position requires expertise in network security engineering and the ability to develop and maintain secure network infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead efforts to continually improve security on terrestrial networks
  • Respond to and investigate security alerts and incidents
  • Maintain and administer perimeter security systems
  • Conduct analysis of network security needs and contribute to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software
  • Collaborate with Engineering departments to examine attack vectors and implement preventative controls
  • Prepare and present technical reports/briefings related to internal and customer security initiatives
  • Stay up to date on the latest network security products and services, industry best practices, and customer needs
Requirements:
  • Positive attitude and highly motivated
  • Demonstrated experience working with networking products and technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of firewall technologies
  • An understanding of adversarial networking attack tactics and mitigative actions
  • Ability to effectively apply security to the system engineering process
  • Experience with policy creation and process application
  • Active SECRET clearance
  • Cyber certification (CISSP, CCNP Security, CCSP)
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
  • Experience with DoD/IC
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance
  • History of working within cloud environments
  • Experience ensuring systems meet and comply with RMF standards
  • Understanding of PKI management systems
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Juniper, and/or Forcepoint devices
