Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3 Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3 to join our team at 22nd Century Technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures and structural components of complex to extreme difficulty.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair aircraft structures and structural components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
  • Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
  • Inspect jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks.
  • Test engine operation using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours.
  • Able to change physical locations based on need (including physical ability to travel).
  • Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions.
  • Able to wear a respirator or other safety gear.
  • Ability to be subject to areas that could cause various phobias due to height or closed spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A&P License.
  • E-6B/707 experience.
  • Able to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
  • Experience performing complex modifications.
