Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3 Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking skilled Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3's for a contract opportunity in Lake Charles, LA.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and structural components of complex to extreme difficulty.
  • Apply a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification.
  • Provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
  • Apply a broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
  • Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, and written instructions.
  • Apply professional technical expertise to solve complex problems.
  • Make entries in aircraft logs and records.
Additional Duties:
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories.
  • Assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and other electrical components.
  • Maintain and repair aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum 10 years relevant experience.
  • Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours.
  • Able to change physical locations based upon need.
  • Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions.
Preferred:
  • A&P License.
  • E-6B/707 experience.
  • Experience performing complex modifications.
