Job Summary

Maxx Builders is seeking a highly skilled and organized Assistant Project Manager to support the project management team in delivering high-quality construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction engineering or a related field and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and managerial support to project managers and superintendents on multiple projects.
  • Assist in bid tabulation, solicitation, contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies to identify cost-effective deals and suppliers.
  • Analyze subcontractor estimates to ensure accuracy and profitability against budgets.
  • Negotiate with external vendors/subcontractors to secure profitable terms.
  • Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services.
  • Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries.
  • Examine and test existing contracts.
  • Collaborate with key personnel to ensure clarity of specifications and expectations.
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming project needs.
  • Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings and coordinate with the Superintendent to ensure safety, quality control, and schedule.
  • Coordinate with the construction team and owners to ensure project progress.
Requirements
  • BS in Construction Engineering or related field.
  • 1-2 years of construction-related experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to effectively make decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
  • Aptitude in decision-making, negotiations, and working with numbers.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
  • Strong leadership and delegation capabilities.
