Job Summary

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Wasco State Prison. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality healthcare services to our patients, working closely with our medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage the health care needs of patients in ambulatory, inpatient, and specialized clinical settings.
  • Perform physical examinations and therapeutic procedures.
  • Interpret routine laboratory and imaging results.
  • Educate and counsel patients regarding matters pertaining to their physical and mental health.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current license as a registered nurse in California.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the Board of Registered Nurses.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a correctional setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
