Host Position Overview

Cochon, a renowned restaurant in New Orleans, seeks a skilled Host to provide exceptional guest experiences. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests with a smile and ensure a seamless check-in process
  • Maintain a clean and organized host stand and front door area
  • Answer phone calls, take reservations, and manage guest inquiries
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as mailing and filing, as needed
  • Efficiently seat guests according to company standards
  • Communicate clearly and politely with guests regarding delays and wait times
  • Ensure menus, wine lists, and other materials are clean and presentable
  • Presents menus and provides a quality assurance experience
  • Provides reservation counts and informs management of special requests and events
  • Engages management for any guest issues or complaints
  • Notifies servers and management of special requests and celebrations
  • Directs guests to their tables at a comfortable pace
  • Checks bathrooms regularly and maintains a clean and stocked environment
  • Adheres to grooming and dress code standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of host and/or restaurant experience in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to work in an organized and professional manner
  • Able to work in a standing/walking position for long periods of time
  • Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess exceptional work ethic, strong sense of hospitality, and a collaborative attitude
  • Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
