Job Description:

Cable One and our family of brands are seeking a skilled Construction Technician to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing aerial and underground infrastructure, including fiber optic cable, coax, copper, conduits, and other associated facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the installation of underground conduit, handholes, pedestals, cabinets, and row markers.
  • Conduct potholing (vacuum excavation) of utilities in work areas.
  • Install aerial cable, utility poles, and associated hardware.
  • Frame utility poles and complete utility pole transfers of existing cables to new pole locations.
  • Operate crew vehicles, vacuum excavation equipment, conduit trailers, fiber trailers, air compressors, backhoe/mini-excavator/plow/directional drill, and other tools and equipment.
  • Pull various types of cables, including fiber, coax, and copper in conduit.
  • Perform line maintenance and repairs for subscriber-based electronics and cable infrastructure.
  • Perform traffic control flagging duties for roads and highways as needed.
  • Ensure company assets are properly maintained and secured in a safe manner.
  • Accurately complete progress forms, project activity reports, and other documentation.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Prior training and knowledge in construction or the telecommunications industry is desired, but not required.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a good driving record.
  • OSHA 10 construction certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, calculate figures, and interpret technical instructions.
