Job Title: Associate Director of Estimation

Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Estimation is a key role within our organization, responsible for managing the estimation process for PV and PV+BESS projects. This position requires strong leadership and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate and timely estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the estimation process for internal and external projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of estimates.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and project development teams to confirm project cost estimates.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for competitive and effective estimation processes.
  • Analyze plans, drawings, specifications, and vendor proposals to develop final cost books.
  • Conduct risk assessments and produce assumptions and exclusions for each project.
  • Review design options and recommend best solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, and availability of materials.
  • Develop and continuously improve the estimation process.
  • Calculate various statistical data, including historical pricing, quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs, indexes, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports.
  • Track and research historical data to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.
  • Initiate and set deadlines for departments to support timely review of pre-bid meetings, bid reviews, and pricing of equipment and materials.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or finance/business.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional estimating experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the PV utility industry.
  • Battery Energy Storage knowledge and experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Projects, and estimating platforms.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, if required.

Work Environment:

  • Regular professional, office business setting.
  • Noise level ranges from low to moderate (if in office setting).
  • Noise level ranges from moderate to high (if on construction worksite).
