Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing
Job Summary: Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced nursing professional to serve as Assistant Director of Nursing. This role will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to nursing staff within the healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Staff Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth among nursing staff.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in the development and management of Quality Improvement projects, incorporating standards of care according with the Joint Commission, Infection Prevention Control, NYS DOH and other regulatory guidelines.
- Operational Oversight: Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
- Staff Management: Assist in hiring and monitoring nursing staff and other support staff activities.
Requirements:
- Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related field required. Master of Science degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse. Minimum of 4 years management experience required.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). Effective management skills necessary to organize direct and evaluate the activities of patient care off shift operations. Ability to apply and utilize the balanced scorecard measures (customer service, financial, innovation and growth, and performance improvement). Critical thinking and analytic skills necessary for problem solving and clinical decision-making.
