Position Summary
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a crucial role in assisting patients with end-stage renal disease, collaborating with clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment process to ensure the delivery of prescribed therapies. Our PCTs are vital members of the interdisciplinary team, committed to providing safe care and achieving the highest quality outcomes for each patient.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position, requiring commitment for 4 days a week with Sundays off and no overnight shifts.

Key Responsibilities
As a Patient Care Technician, you can expect to:
- Actively engage in infection control, risk management, and patient education initiatives
- Guide new patients through a comprehensive 120-day education program
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and machine readings during treatments
- Work under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Prepare and dismantle dialysis blood systems for treatment
- Insert and remove patient access needles
- Observe patients during dialysis, documenting any changes and communicating concerns to the charge nurse
- Calculate patient weight loss to achieve target dry weight
- Assess patient care priorities and manage workload effectively
- Maintain professional relationships while respecting patient privacy and rights
- Track and manage inventory
- Conduct laboratory work as needed
Qualifications

Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with prior dialysis experience. Dialysis Clinic, Inc. offers a comprehensive 3-month education program, which includes classroom sessions and one-on-one skills training.
