Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced EHS Engineer to join our team at Randstad. As an EHS Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the activities of the facility to meet and/or exceed federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations. You will assist with projects and tasks related to sustainability efforts and develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of employees, as well as compliance with all environmental regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Oversee permitting related to environmental compliance programs and work with local consultants to assure compliance with stormwater and wastewater permitting.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Complete inspections and manage the sites SPCC and SWPPP programs.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and recommend / implement corrective actions.
  • Manage programs to promote safety awareness and compliance among employees.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards and legislation.
  • Work closely with management, supervisors, and employees to foster a safety-first culture.
  • Review and assess safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure adequacy and compliance.
  • Educate employees on how to prevent health and safety problems through safety training.
  • Support sustainability related projects and drive improvements through best practices and compliance related documentation.
  • Serve as a mentor to on-site EHS coordinator.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety/ EHS or another related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in EHS management in storm and wastewater, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing safety measures.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Team player with strong leadership skills.
