As the Vice President of Regional Sales Operations, your primary focus will be on strategic planning and execution across all business lines within a specified region, with full accountability for the regional profit and loss (P&L). You will oversee commercial operations in your area and be tasked with cultivating relationships while expanding business with both new and existing clients. A key aspect of your role will be to foster direct customer relationships within your region and effectively position the combined software and hardware solutions of Rittal and EPLAN in the marketplace. Collaboration with executive leadership will be essential to ensure the successful implementation of company objectives and alignment with other regions. This role will also involve managing a team of sales and technical professionals across the region, guiding them to drive growth in targeted verticals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This is a pivotal leadership role within Rittal, reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of Rittal US, aimed at optimizing our value stream (hardware and software as a comprehensive solution) for our clientele.
  • Responsible for regional strategy and execution to meet P&L expectations.
  • Oversee sales SG&A management and initiatives for the region.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance both direct and indirect sales channels within the region.
  • Manage and resolve conflicts between direct and indirect sales channels.
  • Coordinate with other Sales Leaders to ensure the seamless execution of corporate strategies across various market sectors.
  • Implement corporate omni-channel strategies within the region, including pricing requests, reviews, and approvals in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Enhance brand visibility for Rittal and EPLAN within the region.
  • Provide market-driven insights regarding inventory levels and turnover for regional facilities based on sales data and forecasts, collaborating with logistics for regional warehouse management.
  • Optimize the performance of the regional distribution and modification center while maintaining a focus on profitable growth.
  • Directly lead and manage regional account managers, systems consultants, channel managers, and ecosystem account managers, offering coaching aligned with company performance metrics.
  • Oversee strategy and sales for Rittal Automation Systems products, including the One Rittal partnership with EPLAN software solutions.
  • Compensation will include a base salary along with variable components based on regional revenue achievements and P&L results.
  • Assess and enhance operational and financial performance.
  • Provide comprehensive solutions to challenges related to profitability, personnel, and competition.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, preferably in a technical field such as engineering, industrial distribution, business management, or business administration. A Master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a P&L responsible managerial role within the manufacturing sector or a similar executive position.
  • Experience in P&L and SG&A management and analytics.
  • B2B sales experience in a direct sales context, ideally involving hardware and software.
  • Experience managing an omni-channel sales model, including the relationship between direct sales and indirect channel partners.
  • Knowledge of capital expenditure purchasing, installations, and payback tracking.
  • Familiarity with business processes and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations, etc.).
  • A technical background with knowledge of industrial automation products and/or electrical engineering is preferred.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit to seek out and engage in competitive situations.
