Transportation Project Engineer

LJA Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Project Engineer to join our Program Management Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for applying your proficient skills, broadening your knowledge and skillset, and developing efficient procedures and quality processes to improve performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform design calculations, prepare plans, and direct schematic designs for TxDOT and local government projects.
  • Use advanced techniques, theory, precepts, and practices to solve complex problems.
  • Interact with task leaders, team members, clients, and other consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Exercise judgment in independently evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Work in a client's office to further a client program.
  • Participate in team lunches, breakfasts, and social activities.
Requirements:
  • Effective communication skills to engage with others.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer.
  • 5+ years of experience with MicroStation, Geopak (or Open Roads) and TxDOT procedures.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience with MicroStation ORD.
  • Experience with Large Scale TxDOT Projects.
  • Technical Training Experience.
  • Experience working in public hearings, or public meetings.
