SUMMARY:

The Family Practice Physician provides comprehensive medical care and treatment in a clinic setting, with full authority for all preventative, diagnostic, treatment, and referral care rendered by healthcare professionals under the Center's auspices.

This position may involve remote work requirements.

This position is subject to all current CMS vaccine mandates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and approved protocols.
  2. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient clinical problems and healthcare needs.
  3. Records physical findings, formulates a plan, and prognosis based on patient condition.
  4. Discusses cases with other healthcare professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan.
  5. Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment, such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
  6. Refers patients to specialists for consultation or to specialized healthcare resources for treatment, as needed.
  7. Participates as an instructor/facilitator in in-house employee education.
  8. Participates as an instructor/facilitator in community education and outreach.
  9. Ensures all credentialing and continuing education requirements for continued licensure are current.
  10. Adheres to and supports all principles and guidelines of the Patient-Centered Medical Home adopted by Primary Healthcare Centers.
  11. Participates in regular Quality Improvement and Peer Review audits.
  12. Meets patient clinical outcome measures as established through the Quality Improvement Program.
  13. Completes all patient medical record documentation and locks patient visits within established timeframes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises mid-levels and clinical support staff assigned to their team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Board certified/eligible in a primary care specialty.

Medical degree from an accredited college of medicine.

Completion of an accredited residency program in family practice or internal medicine.

LANGUAGE ABILITIES:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Georgia Medical License.

Board certified/eligible in a primary care specialty.

Valid Driver's license.

ACLS Certified.
