Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, the Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring timely payment collections, processing invoices, and accurately recording revenue in accordance with established accounting policies and internal controls. This position involves active participation in collection efforts, including identifying and addressing account delinquencies promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and distribute monthly billing statements.
  • Input and create receipts based on data from various banking and donation platforms.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts, conduct collection calls, and manage disputed invoices, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounts Receivable Supervisor to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance with internal controls.
  • Perform account research and financial analysis.
  • Engage with governmental and funding agencies as required.
  • Manage bank deposits and maintain organized filing systems for records.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are indicative of the skills and experience required:

Education and Experience:

Associate's Degree or equivalent in accounting or a related discipline, along with one or more years of relevant experience in accounts receivable and general ledger reconciliations. Experience in the non-profit sector is preferred. Familiarity with ERP accounting software is advantageous.

Language Proficiency:

Proficient in English, with strong oral and written communication skills. Capable of interpreting accounting documents and responding to inquiries from clients and regulatory bodies effectively.

Mathematical Competence:

Demonstrated ability in financial record-keeping and proficiency in calculating figures such as discounts and percentages.

Analytical Skills:

Ability to identify problems, gather data, evaluate information, and propose viable solutions. Competence in interpreting technical instructions and managing both abstract and concrete variables.

Additional Skills:

Proficient in using a ten-key calculator and MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Capable of handling sensitive information with discretion. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships in diverse situations. Detail-oriented with effective organizational and prioritization skills. Reliable, flexible, and punctual, with a strong work ethic and the ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.

Physical Requirements:

This position may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing, as well as occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. The work environment may vary in noise levels depending on the activity.
