  • Ensures all service warranty and product improvement programs are completed and submitted in a timely manner to maximize credit.

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Service Department operations.
  • Proficient in standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet-based functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with individuals and groups.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and hold individuals accountable.
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles related to Service Department operations.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Physical Effort: Service Writers frequently conduct inspections on machinery, requiring physical capability to maneuver on and under machines. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and visit various agricultural/construction sites with uneven terrain.
Working Conditions:

As a Service Writer, frequent visits to the service and repair shop are necessary to perform various tasks. The shop environment may present hazardous conditions, including exposure to dirt, grease, fumes, and potential physical injuries. Adherence to strict safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential.

Wage:
$20.00 – $27.00 hourly with bonus potential
