POSITION SUMMARY
The role involves supporting the Plant Engineering Manager and Maintenance team in addressing equipment downtime challenges. The engineer will play a pivotal role in leading or participating in Kaizen initiatives aimed at improving key machinery and will serve as a resource for the installation of new equipment. Additionally, the engineer will gather and develop strategies for preventing downtime.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess the safety and quality of process equipment to meet customer demands.
- Work hours: 8-10 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts as necessary.
- Collaborate with maintenance technicians to ensure the reliability of all equipment, emphasizing a hands-on approach.
- Act as the primary contact for technical challenges related to equipment.
- Support the training of maintenance personnel on critical process machinery.
- Engage in and/or lead Kaizen projects to enhance operational efficiency.
- Compile and analyze Weekly and Monthly Pareto Data regarding downtime issues.
- Monitor, adjust, and document machine parameters as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- 2-3 years of experience with six-axis robotics and programmable logic controllers, or completion of an accredited Vocational or Technical program resulting in an Associate's degree or Certificate of Graduation.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
- Ability to work with process equipment ranging from 24 Vdc to 480 Vac and associated testing tools.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and servo-driven systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD 2D.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
