Lexitas Legal, a leading litigation boutique law firm, seeks a seasoned Compliance Manager, Agency to oversee the company's compliance program for insurance sales partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain compliance guidance for agents, brokers, and other sales partners.
  • Provide regulatory expertise and guidance to business unit management on compliance requirements, including New York Regulation 187 and telemarketing laws.
  • Assist with advertising reviews and revise agency business partner contracts for compliance purposes.
  • Represent the company on projects and initiatives, as needed.
  • Participate in the Company Compliance Action Team to implement compliance requirements.
  • Conduct and oversee internal and external audits for compliance purposes.
  • Develop and implement training modules and insurance compliance policies and procedures.
  • Research and analyze laws and regulations to provide written guidance and respond to insurance compliance questions.
  • Work with internal and external partners to collect and analyze data and timely report to regulatory agencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, Advanced degree (preferred)
  • Minimum 5-7 years of insurance compliance experience
  • Working knowledge of life and health insurance laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Proven research, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated successful experience working as part of a team

Computer Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of legal research engines (e.g., Westlaw)
  • Ability to learn and use electronic compliance programs (e.g., RegEd Code and Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker)
  • Proficient using SERFF
