Job Overview

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Information Security Engineer to enhance our cybersecurity initiatives at Breakdown Services. This is a full-time, permanent position that is REMOTE. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US and reside in California. The Information Security Engineer will play a critical role in formulating and executing comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, policies, and practices to protect our organization's information assets and ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our data.

Key Responsibilities:

Cybersecurity Strategy Development:

Design and spearhead the execution of the cybersecurity strategy in alignment with the organization’s goals.

Provide visionary leadership to the cybersecurity team, cultivating a culture of security awareness and compliance across the organization.

Risk Assessment and Management:

Perform regular risk evaluations to identify and rank cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

Formulate and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to protect the organization from potential threats.

Security Governance Framework:

Establish and uphold effective security governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.

Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards concerning information security.

Incident Response Coordination:

Develop and maintain a comprehensive incident response plan, including managing the response to cybersecurity incidents.

Conduct thorough post-incident analyses to determine root causes and suggest enhancements to prevent recurrence.

Security Architecture Collaboration:

Work closely with IT and business units to embed security best practices into system and application design and development.

Continuously assess and improve security architecture to counter emerging threats.

Employee Security Training:

Implement a robust security awareness program for staff, fostering a culture of security mindfulness.

Deliver training on cybersecurity best practices and conduct regular drills to evaluate the organization’s preparedness for security incidents.

Vendor Risk Oversight:

Manage the assessment and oversight of cybersecurity risks associated with third-party vendors and partners.

Ensure that vendors comply with the organization’s security standards and policies.

Security Monitoring and Reporting:

Deploy and manage security monitoring tools and processes to identify and respond to security events.

Prepare regular reports on the organization’s cybersecurity status and incidents for executive leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience in a cybersecurity leadership capacity.

Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly preferred.

Strong grasp of cybersecurity technologies, risk management, and compliance frameworks.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
