Electrical/Controls Engineer Job Description

Mead & Hunt, a leading professional services consulting firm, seeks an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical and control systems for public and industrial water/wastewater facilities
  • Prepare plans and specifications for electrical systems, including power analysis and lighting calculations
  • Provide construction administration and site visits to ensure project quality and compliance
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers to develop their skills and expertise
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, teaming partners, and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering (with an electrical emphasis) from an accredited four-year college or university
  • At least six years of relevant electrical and controls engineering experience
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with power analysis software (EasyPower and/or SKM Power Tools) and lighting calculation software (Visual Lighting, AGI32, or ElumTools)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Knowledge of codes, statutes, standards, and laws related to building design and construction
