About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Architect to join our team at Populous Inc. As a key member of our architectural team, you will be responsible for delivering architectural projects from conception through construction, ensuring that they meet client specifications and are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead architectural projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they meet client specifications and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Research and ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Manage project budgets, work plans, consultants, and schedules to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and team members.
  • Develop and propose budget and time estimations for projects.
  • Maintain a collaborative working relationship with the project leadership team.
  • Act as an intermediary between the client and the architectural team.
  • Foster ongoing communication through team meetings, minutes, and update memos.
  • Ensure project documentation is in compliance with Populous policy.
  • Coordinate team effort to complete projects promptly and successfully.
  • Provide office leadership, including professional development coaching and mentoring staff.
Requirements
  • Strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Guide design, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
  • Understanding of architectural building systems.
  • A thorough understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets.
  • Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk, Revit, required. Familiarity with Newforma preferred.
  • Communicates professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Works in a team environment.
  • Meets deadlines.
  • Highly self-motivated personality.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from an accredited program.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in architectural practice with prior experience in all phases of architectural projects.
  • Project design experience with sport stadiums, arenas, convention centers, hospitality, and aviation a strong plus.
  • Registered Architect with a current license.
  • NCARB registration preferred LEED not required, but a plus.
Additional Information
  • Travel will be required.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
Compensation
  • The projected salary range for this opportunity is $116,696 - $148,787 annually and may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education.
