Job Summary:

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an Environmental, Safety, and Health Compliance Engineer to support the Spent Fuel Handling Project. This individual will work with the Quality and Safety Oversight team to ensure that work is conducted safely and in accordance with applicable requirements.

Responsibilities:

* Apply safety and health requirements through surveillance of work and audits of compliance posture and efforts
* Ensure that work is conducted safely and in accordance with applicable requirements
* Collaborate with Naval Nuclear Laboratory management and peers, as well as project Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management contractor and construction subcontractors
* Develop and implement safety and health programs and procedures

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical, engineering or science related field and 9 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical, engineering or science related field and 7 years of relevant experience
* Relevant certifications, such as ASP, CSP, or equivalent
* Strong understanding of safety awareness and improvement strategies
* Ability to understand trends in data relating to injury/illness and communicate corrective actions

$101,600 - $158,800 annually
