Job Overview

At St. Joseph's Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Associate to join our team. As a Patient Care Associate, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide basic care to acutely ill patients, including vital sign monitoring and medication administration.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Perform EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Phlebotomy/blood drawing experience preferred but will train.
  • One of the following: PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of previous work experience within the last 6 months in a healthcare setting, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, PCA/PCT diploma with National Health Career Association certification, EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification, or enrolled in an accredited nursing school program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals level coursework.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • PCA/PCT (Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician) diploma with 6 months to 1 year of previous work experience within the last 6 months in a healthcare setting.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • PCA/PCT diploma with National Health Career Association certification.
  • EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification.
  • Enrolled in an accredited nursing school program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals level coursework.
  • Nursing Assistant training program completion.
  • PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide, or CMA experience.
