We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health's Bayshore Emergency Department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care and support based on individual needs, including physical, emotional, and educational requirements.
- Collaborate with nursing colleagues and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient outcomes.
- Communicate patient status and care rendered to patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient satisfaction and quality of care.
- Perform various clinical tasks, including vital sign collection, specimen collection, and EKGs.
- Assist with patient transportation, meal preparation, and hygiene care.
- Document patient information and maintain accurate records.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Patient Care Technician program, or equivalent medical background experience.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification required within 6 months of hire.
