Position Overview

The Community School of Naples is actively seeking experienced and qualified individuals to fill the role of School Bus Driver for on-demand driving assignments. All drivers will report directly to the Facilities Manager.

Compensation: The hourly wage ranges from $19 to $22, contingent upon the specific assignment and the driver's qualifications. Candidates must possess a valid CDL with P and S endorsements, along with Air Brakes certification. While prior experience with school buses is preferred, candidates with experience driving passenger buses will also be considered, provided they hold a current school bus endorsement.

Licensing and Certification: The Community School of Naples does not offer assistance for obtaining the necessary licenses; however, the school will cover the costs associated with medical certification, background checks, fingerprinting, and drug testing.

Work Schedule: On-call drivers are utilized to manage heavy scheduling demands or to cover for regular drivers who are unavailable. During peak athletic seasons, the demand for drivers may increase significantly. Some weeks may require drivers for half days or up to five days, while other weeks may see little to no work. Please note that there is no guaranteed number of hours.

Requirements: Candidates must complete fingerprinting, criminal record checks, driving record checks, and a DOT pre-employment physical. Additionally, pre-employment and random drug testing are mandatory.
