About the Role

The Middle East Institute is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading think tank dedicated to the study of the Middle East.

As Associate Director, you will provide high-level administrative support to scholars and senior staff, expanding and diversifying our portfolio of corporate members and grant awards.

You will report directly to the Chief Development Officer and work closely with our policy experts and executive leadership to identify, solicit, onboard, and steward a diverse range of new and existing corporate members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting prospect research and writing proposals to secure funding for new and existing projects
  • Developing and refining MEI's corporate membership scheme to best fit the needs of the institute and its members
  • Expanding MEI's network of relationships with charitable foundations interested in funding current and new projects
  • Collaborating with the development team to refine internal systems and expand MEI's fundraising operation

We are looking for a candidate with proven fundraising experience, strong communication and writing skills, and a strong understanding of non-profit management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work effectively with individuals at the executive and board of governors level, and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with counterparts in major corporations and foundations.

Competitive candidates should also have a strong understanding of International Relations, ideally with some knowledge of the Middle East and regional languages.
