POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Civil Engineering Project Specialist role entails increasing responsibilities in engineering.

This position involves compiling individual task assignments into comprehensive plan sets and reports, while also mentoring and guiding junior engineers.

Primary responsibilities will be executed under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer, focusing on project assignments rather than isolated tasks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute all functions of a Design Engineer

- Develop reports that outline insights and recommendations for project management approval

- Create design plan sets for construction, adhering to objectives established by the Project Manager

- Serve as a technical advisor to design engineers as directed by the Project Manager

- Potentially act as a Field Engineer during construction phases

- Manage smaller projects as assigned

- Collaborate with management on significant project decisions including client interactions, design, costs, and timelines

- Address daily technical challenges

- May require occasional travel for project assignments

- Work in conjunction with various departments to meet corporate objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

- A minimum of 2 years of relevant design experience

Skills and Competencies:
- Proven track record in the Design Engineer role

- Proficient in Northwind Group's design software

- Ability to manage tasks effectively while collaborating with multiple managers

- Understanding of the processes necessary to produce a complete plan set

- Capability to generate and compile a comprehensive set of drawings that align with industry standards

- Solid grasp of project processes and familiarity with various aspects of civil engineering design

- Effective communication skills with internal teams and external stakeholders.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May involve lifting up to 10 lbs.

Work primarily conducted in an office environment, with occasional site visits, and may require standing or walking for brief periods.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:


Office-based work with potential travel to project sites, with opportunities to serve as a Field Engineer during construction.
