Job Title: Right of Way Agent

Universal Field Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Right of Way Agent to join our team in Salem, Oregon. As a Right of Way Agent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful acquisition of properties for our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Parcel Map Interpretation: Read, understand, and interpret right of way parcel maps/plans and construction drawings to identify potential acquisition challenges.
  • Real Estate Law and Terminology: Possess a basic understanding of real estate law and terminology to effectively communicate with landowners and stakeholders.
  • URA and Title 49 CFR, Part 24: Familiarize yourself with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as amended, and Title 49 CFR, Part 24 to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Acquisition Process: Understand the sequence of processes required to complete the acquisition, including title examination, surface ownership determination, and encumbrance resolution.
  • Landowner Communication: Effectively communicate acquisition processes and requirements to landowners, conducting good faith negotiations to secure agreements.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and execute related agreements, contracts, and documents to close acquisition, as well as prepare required documents for condemnation action.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of every contact made with the property owner or their representative, as well as detailed parcel files.
  • Data Input: Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data input into status tracking reports and/or databases on assigned parcels.
