Job Summary

Noble Casing Inc is seeking a highly skilled Shop Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, service, and repair all NCI vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities to prevent equipment failures and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and tests to identify any safety issues or irregularities.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the long-term reliability of our vehicles.
  • Collaborate with shop managers to prioritize work assignments and direct the work of subordinate mechanics.
  • Supervise and participate in the construction of specialized tools and equipment.
  • Oversee the overhauling and rebuilding of trucks, tractors, pumps, cranes, and other standard or specialized gasoline and diesel-operated oil field equipment.
  • Examine defective machinery to determine the cause of malfunction and report the need for machine repairs.
  • Set up and operate machines to make test runs and experimental products.
  • Inspect work in progress and finished products.
  • Confer with supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Perform activities of workers supervised.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Must be proficient in written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and quality skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training.
Work Environment

This job may include exposure to chemicals, cold, dampness, fumes/gases, heat/humidity, noise, height, and moving mechanical parts.

Physical Demands
  • Light duty: lifting of 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Medium duty: lifting of 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Heavy work: lifting of 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
Driver Criteria

This is our preferred guideline for insured drivers. Individual exceptions may be considered to some degree.

Requiring driver exclusions:

  • One or more Type A Violation(s) in a 60-month period.
  • Two or more Type B Violation(s) in a 36-month period.
  • Three or more Type C Violation(s) in a 36-month period.
  • One Type B and two Type C Violations in a 36-month period.

Type of Violations Defined:

  • Type A: Includes but is not limited to, DWI, DUI, OUI, refusing a substance test, and charges of reckless driving, manslaughter, hit & run, eluding police, any felony, drag racing, having or driving with a suspended license.
  • Type B: Includes all vehicle accidents regardless of fault.
  • Type C: Includes all moving violations not in Types A or B such as; speeding, improper lane change, failure to yield, running stop lights or signs.
  • Type D: Included non-moving violations such as illegal parking, equipment violations, obstructing traffic, failure to display registration or driver's license.
