As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive medication management and clinical support within a sophisticated pharmacy environment. This position collaborates with essential stakeholders to enhance patient and family education, ensure medication safety, uphold quality assurance, and maintain regulatory compliance. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to contribute to the education of pharmacy students and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer expert clinical, formulary, and pharmacotherapy guidance, serving as a valuable resource for students, staff, and interdisciplinary care team members.
- Deliver clinical pharmacy services to all patients in your designated area, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). This includes the dispensing of medications, conducting thorough patient reviews, monitoring and adjusting therapies, and documenting changes in accordance with departmental policies and pharmacy regulations.
- Act as a pharmaceutical care resource for patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to ensure the appropriateness of medication orders, drug selection, formulary accuracy, and compliance with departmental initiatives.
- Oversee the distribution and preparation of medications, sterile products, compounded IV mixtures, and other extemporaneous orders as necessary.
- Maintain and enhance your proficiency in pharmacy practice by reviewing relevant literature, attending educational seminars and conferences, and actively participating in departmental clinical meetings and activities.
- Engage in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and process improvement initiatives as required.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards.
- Utilize available information technology and resources to support daily operational activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compliance with Organizational Requirements:
- Complete all required training relevant to the role.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Qualifications:
Required License/Certification:
- Valid Minnesota Pharmacist License.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of one year of pharmacist experience in a complex healthcare setting.
Additional Credentials:
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
