Nurse Educator

Job Summary: Samaritan Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Educator to join our Education department. As a Nurse Educator, you will play a vital role in planning, developing, and delivering educational programs to new and existing nursing staff, as well as overseeing our nurse residency program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and conduct general orientation for new nursing staff members.
- Develop and maintain the nurse residency program for newly graduated nurses.
- Assist nursing directors in developing structure and content for unit orientations.
- Coordinate and teach programs such as ACLS, ACLS-OB, TNCC, NRP, ENPC, and PALS.
- Develop and conduct nursing skills training using various delivery methods.
- Determine need and methods for testing, develop and administer tests, and assess test results.
- Participate in the PCS Education Taskforce to identify, develop, and deliver education for staff development.
- Support nursing directors in implementing improvement plans for nursing staff members with skill deficiencies.
- Plan, develop, and conduct other nursing and patient-related educational programs as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing required, Master's degree in nursing or a related field preferred.
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse license.
- CPR and ACLS/PALS instructor status preferred.
- Minimum 5 years nursing experience in acute care within the previous 7 years.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in conducting nursing education.
Competencies:

- Possesses working knowledge of training methodologies and practices.
- Demonstrates competent training skills in various settings.
- Conceives and structures training programs and develops training materials.
- Coordinates educational events efficiently and effectively.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Occasional or prolonged standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching, pushing, and pulling.
- Manual dexterity, light physical effort, ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs.
- Good reading eyesight and visual acuity.
