Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at Sonesta Hotels. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving beverages, and maintaining a clean and safe bar environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and promote our house drinks to maximize revenue.
  • Prepare beverages to the highest standard, adhering to established recipes and pouring standards.
  • Coordinate food service with our restaurant team to ensure seamless service to our bar and lounge guests.
  • Monitor guest behavior and consumption, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
  • Alert management to any service or safety issues, and make service recovery gestures to ensure total guest satisfaction.
  • Set up and maintain the bar, including liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware, and supplies.
  • Perform pre- and post-shift side-work, including emptying and filling ice bins, preparing garnishes, and replenishing snacks.
  • Requisition supplies, inventory liquor and beverages, and ensure all liquor is properly secured.
  • Manage cash and credit transactions, balance the cash drawer, and inspect the bar for cleanliness and attractiveness.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods, and garnishes.
  • Formal bartending training preferred.
  • Must meet state legal age requirements.
  • Must speak fluent English.
