This role involves the responsibility for generating and refining design calculations, technical documentation, engineering plans, and specifications for various projects.

You will collaborate closely with the project manager to conduct research, development, calculations, design, and delivery. You will apply engineering methodologies, procedures, and design standards for projects of varying scales and complexities. Your technical expertise, experience, and client relationships will be instrumental in executing and assessing project designs.

You will develop both conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to facilitate project execution using the latest drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.

Additionally, you may mentor, train, and review the work of junior engineering staff, providing constructive feedback.

As a valued team member, your contributions will be essential to the successful delivery of diverse projects for HNTB's clientele.


Key Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned tasks within the designated schedule and hours.
- Assist in formulating project specifications.
- Responsible for the creation of discipline-specific engineering project elements and deliverables, including reports, designs, and plans.
- Facilitate coordination and productivity among project team members.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
- Collaborate closely with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Conduct quality control reviews of discipline-specific engineering project elements and deliverables.
- Assist in coordinating and planning schedules, hours, and work distribution within the discipline.
- Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience, or
- Master's degree in Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience, or
- PhD in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience.

Primary Focus:
- Independently generate structural computations for design, analysis, and quantity takeoffs for bridges and other transportation structures.

- Responsible for creating construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for structural work on transportation infrastructure projects, ranging from simple to complex.

- Conduct quality control of structural design calculations, drawings, and cost estimates for various transportation structures in accordance with HNTB's quality processes.
- Engage in interdisciplinary coordination to collaborate with project team members, ensuring consistency and compatibility in project design.

- Deliver innovative technical solutions to complex infrastructure challenges throughout all project phases, from planning to final design and support during construction.


Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Experience in design for NJDOT and NJTA projects.
