Senior Chemist I

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chemist I to join our Research and Development team at BASF Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative catalyst solutions for the refining and FCC market.

• Develop and execute projects focused on creating new and improved catalyst formulations, working closely with technicians in the lab, pilot plant, and plant trial activities.
• Lead a team of scientists and technicians in solving complex problems and developing innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, handling multiple tasks with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced lab and pilot plant setting.
• Communicate results effectively to stakeholders through presentations and reports.
• Collaborate with R&D, business, and manufacturing colleagues to optimize performance of existing products or processes.

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science with at least 3 years of related experience in catalysis research, scale-up, or manufacturing, or a M.S. degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of research principles and techniques, with the ability to work outside of your specialization and familiarity with heterogeneous catalysis formulations and manufacturing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, data analysis, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools and experience with statistical tools such as DOE is a plus.
