About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemist I to join our team at BASF Corporation. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for developing innovative catalyst formulations and improving existing products.

As a Senior Chemist I, you will utilize your advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science to drive development of new catalyst formulations, improvement of existing products, and collaboration with technicians in the lab, pilot plant, and plant trial activities.

You will lead a team of scientists and technicians in solving and developing innovative solutions leading to products that satisfy customer needs. You will interface with business colleagues and customers, providing and communicating results in an impactful manner to relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new catalyst formulations and improve existing products
  • Lead a team of scientists and technicians in solving and developing innovative solutions
  • Interface with business colleagues and customers to provide and communicate results
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle multiple tasks with high autonomy
  • Provide and communicate results in an impactful manner to relevant stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science with at least 3 years of related experience in Catalysis research, scale-up, or manufacturing
  • M.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science with 5+ years of related experience in catalyst development
  • Strong written/verbal communication, data analysis, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with heterogeneous catalysis formulations and manufacturing
  • Proficient with MS Office tools
