UTMB Health seeks a skilled Vocational Nurse to provide direct nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in nursing principles and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including administering medications and treatments.
- Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care given.
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures, and maintain patient records.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Follow physician's orders and maintain patient confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS-HP certification.
- Ability to work in a correctional setting and maintain security clearance.
