Public Relations Specialist

The Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors is seeking a skilled Communications Manager to lead our communications efforts. This role will be responsible for managing communications for our Government Affairs team, serving as the primary staff liaison for our Capital Area Realtor magazine, and developing and executing social media campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage communications for GCAAR's Government Affairs team, including leading monthly meetings, writing and distributing a legislative e-newsletter, and crafting government affairs content for email, social media, and the website.
- Serve as primary staff liaison and oversee production for GCAAR's Capital Area Realtor magazine, published four times a year.
- Write, format, and distribute newsletters, emails, and content for other communications channels.
- Maintain the association's social media calendar and accounts, develop and execute social media campaigns, and edit weekly content and post emergent updates.
- Develop and post association content to websites, perform regular maintenance on the association website, and work with subject matter experts to keep contract forms updated.
- Create and update materials and assist with implementing annual programs, including Recognition Awards and special campaigns.
- Serve as a backup contact for media inquiries and interviews.
- Regularly track email and website engagement through Google Analytics and other measurement tools.
- Supervise two staff members.
Qualifications:
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing.
- Six to eight years of related work experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to write in Associated Press style.
- Experience in management of social media sites, email marketing tools, and website content management systems.
- Experience with magazine production and a proven ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality in a fast-paced environment.

- Practical knowledge of current communications and email marketing best practices to drive brand engagement and build traffic across web and social platforms.
- Knowledge of media relations, government affairs, and/or graphic design a plus.
