Job Summary

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a key leadership position responsible for driving the strategic direction of the university's information technology department. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance & Administration, the CIO will provide leadership, integrative management, vision, and strategic planning for the university's IT department.

Responsibilities
  • Provide institutional-wide leadership and direction in the management and operation of information technologies and services.
  • Develop and implement integrated strategic IT plans and policies for the university.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including operations, information security, enterprise applications, infrastructure, and technology support services.
  • Guide the design, establishment, and maintenance of the IT organizational structure and staffing required to effectively support and accomplish the university's goals and objectives.
  • Manage the institutional information technology budgeting process, including the Student Technology Fee, and provide leadership in cost and productivity analysis.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 10 years of IT-related experience with 3-5 years at management level; experience with Project Management.
  • Experience with enterprise-level ERP systems like Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday, etc.; higher education experience or experience within the University System of Georgia.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in IT-related field.
  • 10+ years of IT leadership experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Best practices in customer service, prioritization, and teamwork.
  • Working knowledge of IT policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Knowledge of organizational change methodologies.
  • Proven ability to form and execute and IT strategic plan.
