Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Deliver prescribed medical care under the guidance of a licensed physician. Conduct thorough physical examinations, administer treatments, and provide patient counseling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and the ethical standards set forth by the medical associations.

· Maintain an active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.

· Ensure compliance with the Oregon Medical Board and maintain good standing with local healthcare facilities. Non-compliance may lead to employment termination.

· Execute comprehensive and focused medical histories and physical assessments with precision in a dynamic clinical setting. Analyze and integrate data from laboratory and diagnostic tests to develop treatment plans for orthopedic conditions within the scope of practice. Utilize clinical judgment for cases requiring further consultation or referral to an Orthopedic Surgeon.

· Order and perform necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests, including blood work, imaging studies such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and bone scans.

· Assist in surgical procedures, conduct patient rounds in hospitals, write medical orders, and create treatment plans for inpatients. Document histories, physicals, discharge summaries, and other clinical notes.

· Participate in on-call duties as designated by the practice.

· Carry out procedures including but not limited to digital blocks, minor surgical interventions, wound care, and fracture management.

· Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions such as joint aspirations, closed reductions of fractures, and injections for pain management, as well as apply braces, casts, and splints as necessary.

· Prescribe and administer medications and orthopedic devices within the established scope of practice.

· Ensure timely completion and maintenance of medical and billing documentation.

· Engage in ongoing professional development through educational seminars and approved professional activities.

· Collaborate effectively with colleagues and staff.

· Report any defective or malfunctioning equipment to the Director of Clinical Services.

· Notify the employer regarding any legal documents received, including subpoenas or court orders.

· Inform the employer of any potential malpractice claims or exclusions from federal health programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

· Familiarity with business management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation.

· Knowledge of recruitment, training, and personnel management processes.

Education and Experience:

Completion of a fifth-year college or university program; or two to four years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Current Oregon Occupational Therapy license, CHT is required.
