Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is a key member of the hotel's operations team, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness throughout the property. This role requires a strong leader who can supervise and motivate the housekeeping and laundry department to maintain exceptional standards and control costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain monthly accounts receivable duties, including payment processing and management, and prepare accurate reports.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and facilities to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to VIP guests, responding to their needs and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Run room reports, verify room status, and prioritize room cleaning to ensure efficient operations.
  • Assist in managing daily activities within the department, including coordinating with other teams such as engineering and front office.
  • Act as a liaison to resolve issues and communicate with guests, staff, and management.
  • Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms, and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and distribute assignment sheets, and communicate changes to staff.
  • Maintain a detailed account of issues and communicate with next shift staff.
  • Assist with payroll-related tasks, including collecting time cards and reports.
  • Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating, and coaching employees.
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Provide exceptional service to guests, including welcoming and acknowledging them according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, and listen to their concerns.
  • Follow all company and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic written skills.
  • Ability to speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Possess basic knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
