Our 22-bed surgical unit specializes in caring for patients with acute and chronic kidney and liver disease. We provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing kidney and liver transplants, as well as those requiring nephrectomy for organ donation. Our team works closely with the Transplant Medical Team to ensure seamless care throughout the patient's journey. We take pride in being a top-ranked unit for kidney transplant survival rates, and our nurses are trained in peritoneal dialysis.

Scope of WorkThe RN in this role will utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care, incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients. The RN will work under the direction of the Nurse Leader and adhere to Corewell Health policies and procedures. Our nurses are empowered to make decisions and take ownership of patient care, ensuring the best possible outcomes.

- Associate's or Diploma in Nursing is required.
- Bachelor's in Nursing is required within 5 years for new graduates or RNs with less than 1 year of experience.
- Graduates from non-accredited nursing schools must have at least 1 year of acute care experience or 2 years of experience in a licensed healthcare role, and must have passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required within 60 days of hire.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
